USDA lowers WASDE corn, soybean production forecast

The USDA’s November release of the World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE) report on Friday November 8 has provided fresh estimates for corn, soybeans and wheat.

US corn forecasts for 2024/25 suggest lower production and ending stocks.

Wheat estimates for 2024/25 in the US indicated slightly larger supplies, domestic use and ending stocks, but unchanged exports.

US soybean projections for 2024/25 showed lower production, exports, crush and ending stocks.

Corn
US corn production is projected at 15.14 billion bushels, down by 60 million bu from the previous month, driven by a reduction in per-acre yield, now estimated at 183.1 bu per acre.

Total domestic supply was lowered by 61 million bu to 16.93 billion bu.

The harvested area is forecast at 82.7 million acres, unchanged from the previous month.
