US weekly ethanol production reaches all-time high; stocks rise

US weekly average ethanol production reached a new record of 1.113 million barrels per day in the week to Friday November 8, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) report on Thursday November 14. This marked an increase of 8,000 barrels per day from the previous week and a 6.3% rise year on year.

Ethanol stocks were reported at 22.039 million barrels, up by 19,000 barrels week on week and by 5.2% year on year.

Demand for corn increased by 0.7% from the previous week and up by 6.3% year on year. Approximately 16.49 million bushels of corn per day were used for ethanol production.

Livestock feed production totaled 119,022 tonnes in the week to Friday. Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) production accounted for 105,855 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 11,110 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 2,057 tonnes of corn gluten meal.
