US corn, soybean export sales fall below weekly, four-week average

Corn
US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 1.315 million tonnes in the week to November 7, down by 53% from the previous week and down by 52% from the prior four-week average, and within the USDA’s expected range of 1.25 million-2.6 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Friday November 15.

Much of the increase came from unknown destinations (603,500 tonnes), Mexico (167,600 tonnes), South Korea (128,000 tonnes), Colombia (123,100 tonnes) and Japan (122,000 tonnes). The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

These gains were partly offset by reductions for El Salvador (7,500 tonnes), Costa Rica (7,400 tonnes) and Barbados (300 tonnes).

The accumulated export commitments reached 168.4% of the USDA forecast.

Exports of 698,600 tonnes were down by 24% from the previous week and by 13% from the prior four-week average.
