UCO prices rise to start week; December cattle slaughter expected to decline

Used cooking oil (UCO) prices edged higher in the US Gulf Coast on Monday November 18, amid an otherwise quiet start to the week with limited trading.

Sizable volumes of UCO traded at 46 cents per lb, delivered Gulf Coast, though offers were heard as high as 48 cents per lb throughout the day.

Sources have noted expectations of short-term upward momentum, though uncertainties continue to cloud the outlook for the remainder of the year.

The only other notable activity observed throughout the day was in the choice white grease market, with trucks trading at the high end of the assessed range of 42.5-43.5 cents per lb, FOB Missouri River.
