Trading was generally quiet in the US animal protein market on Monday November 25, though price ranges adjusted slightly in typical pre-holiday fashion.
Price pressure on ruminant meat and bonemeal was reported by some market sources, due to lower soybean meal prices, while other prices were rangebound for Monday. Fastmarkets assessed the ruminant meat and bonemeal, Missouri River range at $240-320 per short ton, widening lower from Friday November 22’s $250-320 per ton.
Fastmarkets assessed poultry by-product pet food grade, US Midwest at $575-625 per ton, tightening higher from Friday’s $550-625 per ton.
Fastmarkets assessed feathermeal, fob Minnesota, at $470-500 per short ton, tightening upward from Friday’s $450-500. Prices as high as $515 per ton were reported, but could not be confirmed as of press time.
