Central Illinois soymeal prices continue decline after hitting multi-year lows

In the week to Friday November 22, the soybean crush margin in central Illinois fell by 10.7% week on week, with no year-on-year change due to the absence of a report last year, due to the Thanksgiving holiday. This information comes from the USDA’s National Weekly Grain Co-Products Report, released on Monday November 25.

In the week to Friday, soybean meal prices fell again to $308.40 per short ton, following a four-year low the previous week, down by 1% from $311.40 per ton week on week.

Soybean prices fell to $9.93 per bushel, down by 0.6% week on week from $9.99 per bu.

Soybean oil prices dropped to 42.85 cents per lb, down by 5% week on week from 45.11 cents per lb.

The decrease in soybean, soybean oil and soybean meal prices led to a crush margin of $2.30 per bu, down by 85 cents per bu from the prior six-week average of $3.15 per bu.
