The US animal fats and oils markets was steady on Wednesday November 27, as trading was subdued ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The only notable activity reported throughout the day was slightly higher offers for renderer-grade bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) on a Chicago basis, though no trades were confirmed.
In other news, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported ethanol production at 1.12 million barrels per day for the week ended Friday November 22, according to the Weekly Petroleum Status Report released on Wednesday.
This marks an increase of 9,000 bpd from the previous week, setting a new record for the highest production level since the EIA began tracking data in May 2010. Production levels are also 108,000 bpd, or 10.7%, higher than the same period last year.
