Porcine, ruminant bloodmeal largest price movers of week

US animal proteins were highly mixed for the week to Friday December 6.

The largest price movers of the week were porcine and ruminant bloodmeal, which were higher due to brisk demand and limited to nonexistent inventory levels, sources told Fastmarkets.

Porcine bloodmeal prices moved higher in every region, except for US Mid-Atlantic. Trades as high as $1,325 per short ton were reported in Indiana, but in limited trade.

A high of $1,200 per short ton was reported on porcine bloodmeal, Iowa/Missouri/Nebraska for week to Friday, lifting the weekly average to $1,100 per ton, up by $125.00 week on week.

A high of $1,125 per ton was reported on ruminant bloodmeal, Missouri River for the week, increasing the weekly average to $1,052.50 per ton, higher by $65.00 week on week.
