Weekly export inspections
Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for corn and soybean, but an increase for wheat in the week to January 2, according to data from the USDA released on Monday January 6.
Corn export inspections reached 847,463 tonnes, down by 6.6% from the previous week and by 22.4% year on year.
The top export destinations were Mexico (273,873 tonnes), Colombia (139,576 tonnes), Japan (133,237 tonnes), Spain (71,501 tonnes), South Korea (67,919 tonnes), the Dominican Republic (57,174 tonnes) and Nicaragua (51,152 tonnes).
Yellow corn accounted for the entire amount, with 847,463 tonnes passing inspections.
Soybean export inspections totaled 1.28 million tonnes, down by 21.8% from the previous week, but up by 23.5% year on year.
