December US soybean crush, corn consumption up month on month

US soybean crush above monthly, yearly levels
Soybeans crushed for crude oil totaled 218 million bushels in December 2024, up by 7% from November and by 4% from December 2023, according to the USDA’s Fats and Oils: Oilseed Crushing, Production, Consumption and Stocks report released on Monday February 3.

Crude oil production totaled 2.57 billion lb, up by 3% month on month and by 8% year on year.

Soybean oil production reached 1.92 billion lb during December, up by 5% from November and by 12% from December 2023.

Soybean meal production stood at 4.8 million short tons, up by 4% month on month and by 7% year on year.

Production of soymeal intended for animal feed totaled 4.74 million tons, while production for edible protein products reached 81,939 tons.

Soymeal stocks totaled 414,192 tons in December, down by 11% from November and by 8% from December 2023.
