Argentina organic soybean exports stabilize US supply

Organic soybean imports surged in the second half of 2024, helping to replenish stock for major US operators. As organic soybean imports from Ghana, Togo, and Nigeria dwindled at the end of the second quarter, shipments from Argentina were arriving to fill the supply gap, helping to stabilize prices.

Organic soybean and soybean meal imports from Argentina had declined after historic drought there in 2023 decimated yields.  A shipment of over 25,000 tonnes arrived in March 2024, followed by another comparable volume in July, and then 61,022 tonnes in September of the same year.
