Meat and bone meal (MBM) prices were largely unchanged on an FOB Australia and New Zealand basis in the week to Thursday February 20, with sources continuing to suggest some market weakness due to strong production.
Bovine MBM prices into Indonesia and China were lower, although some sellers have reported strength from the Chinese market.
Sellers moving material in the US domestic market continued to see demand destruction due to the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), which has cut the number of total birds in the US market, but has also created a hand-to-mouth buying mentality.
