US soybean oil sales, exports rebound in week to February 13, meeting expectations of sources

US soybean oil sales and exports rebounded in the week to February 13, in line with market sources’ expectations.

USDA figures released on Friday February 21 showed US domestic soybean oil shipments increased by 4% on the week to 40,000 tonnes, up from exports of 38,400 previously. Over the same time frame, US soybean oil sales were 19,400 tonnes compared with a net sales reduction of 2,800 tonnes in the week to February 6, a marketing-year low.

“Soybean oil exports are still being penciled [in] for March/April,” a trading source said.

In the week to January 23, US net soybean oil sales climbed to a 2024/25 marketing-year high of 103,600 tonnes before falling sharply lower into early February amid improvements in South America’s soybean oil export basis.
