Trading was quiet to start the week.

Cattle slaughter finished last week at a very strong 667,000 head, up 4% from the week prior and from the same week in 2017. The forecast suggests that last week will be a seasonal high with slaughter expected to wind down into the holiday break before picking back up at a reduced rate, relative to Dec, in January.
