Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.
The crush margin fell 6.1% on higher soybean costs and lower values received from both soybean meal and oil sales. Prices did not move much during the week, meal and oil values were only off by 1% and the cost of soybeans only increased slightly, but the effect was enough to push the margin lower.
