DCO prices strengthen as output, ethanol production decline on week
Prices for US animal fats and oils held steady to higher on Wednesday January 29, with much of the day's trade concentrated in the distiller’s corn oil (DCO) markets.
According to the EIA’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report, ethanol production edged 4,000 barrels lower to a 961,000 b/d average. Production is at its lowest level since May 15th. Stocks fell by 413,000 barrels as gasoline demand increased 3.7%. Ethanol imports held at zero for the fifteenth consecutive week. The drop in production led to a decrease in the demand for corn.
