After a number of quiet days in the tallow market Chicago Packer BFT traded at $0.2800 in nine cars, a move that took a few by surprise. Tech tallow is offered out at $0.3100 Chicago this afternoon. Sellers venturing into the market are seeing higher bean oil prices on the board, but a market that is well supplied with fat and oil at the moment. Biodiesel, feed and export markets are all seeing well-priced alternatives.
