Crop Progress – Favorable weather allows corn, soybean and spring wheat plantings to shoot ahead of 5-year averages

The amount of corn planted rocketed 36 points, moving from 19% planted last week to 55% this week. This years pace is ahead of last years by 28 points and shot ahead of the 5-year average, which is 38%, for the first time this season. Only 7 states now trail their respective 5-year averages, a big improvement from 15 last week….
