Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.
The estimated crush margin moved higher for the first time in the past nine weeks, gaining 1.15% last week. The margin has fallen 31% since February 15th. The value received from soybean oil and soybean meal sales, per bushel of soybeans crushed, increased by 16 cents over the past week, as the prices of both soybean oil and soybean meal advanced.
