Cattle Slaughter Forecast to Move Higher

Protein trading was mostly quiet today. The Eastern MBM market did move higher on trading done late Friday.

Cattle slaughter is projected to increase at the end of April after touching near term lows last week, and for the next two. Slaughter finished last week at an estimated 633,000 head, up 4 percent from last year and 1 percent from the week prior. This week and next are forecast out at 620,000 head….
