This week the US hide market saw a few selections edge slightly higher on lower volume following big sales last week. The Jacobsen Hide Index closed $0.48 higher Thursday at $93.71 from $92.97 a week ago. Several market participants opined the steer market lacked energy to move prices to the next level with resistance strong. The cow market continued to be stronger than steers with prices moving a dollar higher on several selections.
