Market Activity & Analysis

The hide market was unremarkable last week with prices more or less steady and volumes about average considering the low kill. Producers were mostly successful in holding together hide prices with steers requiring more effort than cows. During the week BBS traded at $102 to $103, HTS at $96 to $98 and HNS $102 to $104—which is about where prices have been for the past three weeks, give or take a dollar.
