Last week the US hide market was quiet with the Asia markets in holiday mode for the Lunar New Year. While a small number of hides traded, the market ended as it began—more or less with prices unchanged.

The export sales for week ending February 5 were 497,200 hides and wet blue or about 80,000 less than the year’s weekly average. Hide shipments are still being negatively affected by the West Coast ports slowdown with the week’s…
