The US hide market was steady this week with suppliers unwilling to take less and tanners unwilling to pay more for hides. Volume tapered off from a week ago as buyers reduced order sizes, some in anticipation of lower prices. Tanners are being pressured to lower leather prices and trying to drop hide prices in order to accommodate this.
