The US hide market remained stuck in a holding pattern as hide offerings fail to prompt buyers into action. In China, it has been a slow week with a big lack of motivation from various tanners–some of whom are having problems opening up LCs for recent shipments. This is the major tone for the week despite the low slaughter.

While some people in the trade remain positive many express concerns the hide market may be weaker this spring…
