There was another sharp decline for the hide market last week with the Jacobsen Hide Index down $2.74 at $74.75 from a week ago when it was $77.49. Some hide price reductions of $5 or more were seen on quite a few quotes including most of the jumbo steer selections. Butt Branded Steers, a favorite selection of many, breached below the $80 mark for the first time this year and on Friday had a spread from $78 to $85.
