The hide market this week looks to continue with last week’s firm tone by way of offers just beginning to circulate. It is widely expected suppliers will try to hold prices going into the August 31-September 2 All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) and a few will ask for more money this week. It is not clear how much tanner participation there has been at these higher levels, but for the moment, popular steer selections are very firm.
