Last week ahead of the ACLE, the hide market remained firm yet did not see many hides traded. Prices on a few steer selections traded $1 or $2 higher and the Jacobsen Hide Index closed Friday firmly at $65.20 from $63.30 a week ago. Heavy Texas Steers peaked at $73 but closed the week at $68.
