The US market struggled to hold prices steady with down pressure mounting on the steer and cow markets. While there were some trades at last week’s levels, a good portion of business slanted to the down with prices off a dollar or two on a number of trades. There is consensus the plump cow market is soft with prices dropping again this week. Sentiment is still mixed on the steer market; however, most people acknowledge it contracted this week.
