Reports of large sales volumes the last two weeks once again were verified with today’s USDA export sales report. Many people began the week expecting that the more favorable forward-sold positions would stabilize hide prices, but sales so far are slow, with the market in a stalemate with buyers pushing for lower prices and suppliers attempt to hold the line. Quite a few of the low bids were countered with mixed results.
