The US hide market had a firm tone last week with prices for the better grading hides increasing around a dollar and the Jacobsen Hide Index closing on Friday at $65.36 from $64.52 a week ago. HNS traded at $76 to $77, HTS from $68 to $71 and BBS at $75 with a few reports of give or take a dollar.
