Market Activity & Analysis

The hide market last week was quieter with prices largely unchanged and volume lower than the past several weeks. A few trades were reported at slightly lower levels, but the bulk of business from the main players was steady. Packer HNS were sold from $77 to $78, BBS from $74.50 to $75, HTS at $70, BS at $64 and CBS had a wide range from $60 to $64. On Friday, the Jacobsen Hide Index closed the week at $65.44 from $65.65 a week ago.
