The US market this week was quiet with prices largely unchanged as suppliers fought to keep steer prices steady and inch cow prices higher. Buyers showed some interest but many were noticeably absent and looking for lower prices. In the end, the volume of hides traded was lower than normal despite quite large offer lists, especially for heavier weight steers.
