Last week’s US hide market maintained a steady track with volume buyers highly resistant to paying any more for hides. Suppliers were unwilling to take any less money to prompt volume. It’s speculated by some in the trade that the pre-Hong Kong leather fair price bump is already in the rear-view mirror. It is also has been observed that buying for the busy fall shoe leather season is now past us.
