Biodiesel margins rise, but window of opportunity limited
Biodiesel margins continued to rise during the week to Friday November 22. The bean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread boosted margins by falling to its lowest level since August 27.
The US hide prices dropped around a dollar and up to two dollars on some selections last week as buyers remained disciplined and continued pushing for lower prices. With lighter weights becoming more plentiful, an increased number of heifers were traded with packer HBH quoted from $52 to $53.50 and HNH from $54 to $56 FOB plant.
