There was very little to note about last week’s US hide market with the tone continuing to ring soft. Several sources noted sales seem to be down from the previous week, although it’s difficult to know if a week’s worth of hides were sold. Prices were mixed with most steers steady, but a few trades were down a dollar from previous levels. The Jacobsen Hide Index closed $0.47 higher at $49.46 Friday from $48.99 a week ago.
