By most accounts, the return of the China tanners to the hide market has not made much of an impact with little change in demand or buying patterns. A limited number of hides this week moved with prices mostly softer, although a few top-end selections are steady. Bids were reported from a number of sources at prices from one to several dollars below previous levels, which left quite a lot of business still on the table.
