The US hide market remained sluggish last week with some producers lowering their asking prices up to $2 to $3. Prices were mixed, edging down around a dollar in general, but reports were from steady to a couple dollars lower. The Jacobsen Hide Index closed on Friday at $47.83 compared to $48.62 a week ago and packer HNS sold from $61 to 63, BBS from $52 to $54, HTS at $47 and HBH from $37 to $39 FOB plant.
