The big slaughter numbers leading into the Christmas holiday are keeping plenty of hides in front of suppliers to deal with. Reports on buyer interest vary, but most say there are still a lot of aggressively lower bids. As the early China New Year approaches (February 5-7), few, if any, China tanners will accept delivery before the middle of February which puts more focus on other markets such as Italy and Mexico.
