Beef and Pork Production Down 40 Percent from 2019

Trading was again fairly quiet on limited market availability. Through today cattle and hog slaughter are off 40 percent relative to year ago levels. MBM prices did move higher into the Eastern market on limited availability of pure beef material. There are reports of lower priced mixed species ruminant in the market and increased rendering of whole hogs may be pumping some additional material into the midwestern markets.
