In April, almost 1.2 million cattle head were sent to slaughter, up 8% from March and 9% more than a year ago. If adjusted for business days, the comparison with respect to both parameters, marked a drop of 2% with respect to both of them.
Prices of Buenos Aires wet salted heavy steers continue quoting at about US$0.07 per kg. The leather market continues to be very lousy, with hope for some European factories to reopen.
China is slowly opening, but without delivering orders to USA or to Europe. Mexico remains partically closed until May 30th.
