Smokable Hemp Bans Build Momentum

 

Hemp flower bans are emerging in a number of states, including many of the new hemp farming states coming online in 2020, like Georgia, Texas, and Louisiana.  Now Iowa has joined the ranks of states that have banned smokable hemp, for the same reasons as other state governments.  It is perceived as essentially legalizing MJ.  Georgia law enforcement made news in the fall when they stopped citing citizens for small amounts of smokable cannabis.  This was very controversial there and the legislature has intervened.  Iowa’s new rules impose penalties and restrictions on any harvested hemp used for inhalation such as cigarettes, vaporizers and flower.
