US Agencies Continue to Adjust to CBD

Every government agency, it seems, has had some role in developing hemp policy, relative to their sphere of influence.  USDA notably, FDA by necessity, and DEA, tragically, are the top three that come to mind.  Agencies involved in every aspect of US commerce, from financial oversight body the USTD (Treasury) to essential supply chain player USPS, all have developed policies germane to the scope of their oversight to accommodate hemp. This is a tectonic shift for the lumbering giant that is US bureaucracy in aggregate.

 

The DOD has made clear to members of the US Military that CBD is off limits.  Part of the reason is an effort to align with FDA policy.  FDA guidance does not prevent citizens from buying cannabinoid products off store shelves, but it does effectively prohibit servicemen/women from doing as much.  Another area of concern is safety.  “It is common to see…
