Outstanding Export Sales

Tables 1 and 2 below show the total outstanding cured hide and wet blue export sales by selected countries through August 29. Through Week 35, the total outstanding sales are 5.009 million from 5.028 million the prior week. With the same period average weekly slaughter at 599,806 head, the cumulative outstanding sales represent 8.35 weeks of production from 8.40 the previous week.

The market was quiet today with few changes reported. Despite the sellers taking a pause, market sentiment remains stronger with upholstery demand driving the market at present and demand from the footwear sector slowly improving.
