The day was somewhat quiet, with exception of an inrease in Branded Steer prices. After the rebound over the past four weeks, this week has not seen an equally dramatic change. Selections continue to trend upward, but at a slower pace.

July US Retail Shoe Sales

For the second consecutive month, retail shoe sales in the US are near the prior year’s levels. The Federal Reserve Economic Data (FRED) recently released July data posting the month’s retail shoe sales at $2.48 million. Sales for July have increased a moderate 1.4 percent from June’s sales of $2.45 million, but down from the average increase of 8.6 percent for 2016 – 2019.
