Sources have stated that at this point in the week, there have been steady volumes and bids. Big packers and processers are well sold for the near term. Prices are moving up slightly or maintaining their firm positions. Branded Steers are up another dollar from yesterday’s increase, now trading at a packer $20 for the regular weight class. 

Outstanding Export Sales

Tables 1 and 2 below show the total outstanding cured hide and wet blue export sales by selected countries through September 19. Through Week 38, the total outstanding sales are 5.068 million from 4.953 million the prior week. With the same period average weekly slaughter at 601,418 head, the cumulative outstanding sales represent 8.43 weeks of production from 8.25 the previous week.
