DDGS and Ethanol Production
Ethanol production fell 25,000 barrels per day to an 881 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending September 25, 2020. Ethanol and DDGS output hit a 15-week low as planned maintenance and economic concerns slowed output. Ethanol production was 2.8 percent below last week’s report and eight percent under levels at this time last year. DDGS output decreased 2,378 metric tons per day and was 7,323 MT below production from a year ago.
Gasoline supply went unchanged from last week and was seven percent below 2019 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks declined 1.5 percent to 19.7 million barrels. Ethanol imports continued for a third consecutive week, supplying 4.7 million gallons of sugarcane ethanol to the West Coast.
