Slaughter continues to run at a high rate. 

The market has been paying 2 Arg. pesos per kg for raw fresh hides, but there are superstocks of wet salted hides which are widely offered at low price.

Good quality Buenos Aires wet salted heavy steers prices remain quoting at about US$0.04 per kg.

Demand from abroad has increased bit, but they don’t want to pay more than the lows they paid the pandemic.

There are some quote requests for wet blue and semi-finished hides, most likely driven by the auto business. However, footwear and leather goods continue to perform poorly, as the pandemic regrowth in Europe has discourages tourism and social gatherings. There has been no increase in sales of Moroccan and leather footwear.

Most tanneries have continued working at about 25-30%…
