Organic soybean meal prices are playing catch-up football. Merchandisers are telling the Jacobsen that organic soybean meal prices are currently trading near $750 per shore ton (customers cleared) near Baltimore. Prices are now quoted at $680 per metric ton FOB India. The surge has been driven by supply more than demand which seems stable despite organic animal protein demand at supermarkets.

Organic soybean prices remain elevated in the mid-west but prices are beginning to percolate higher on the east coast. Merchandisers are telling the Jacobsen that domestic organic soybean prices are trading near $22 delivered into the east coast.
