Technical Tallow Offered Lower, Unsold

Three cars of tech tallow were offered lower today and unsold as of press time. Most end users are reporting their nearby needs are well met, and the extra material offered into/through the Chicago market has been met with a “no.” Used cooking oil trading was higher into the Gulf market and Southeast and out of the Illinois market. Buyers in the interior, both large and small, and exporters are paying up to secure material through December and into the first quarter of 2021. With COVID cases continuing to rise, so are the concerns of oversupply.

The trading range on choice white grease narrowed out of the Missouri River market today on limited action. There is plenty of material booked for shipment to the Eastern market, which is tight of fat, hence the higher prices for yellow grease and poultry fat today.
